LexPhil Discovery Concert

April 17, 2026

Our 4th graders will travel to the Singletary Center for the Arts to attend the Lexington Philharmonic Discovery Concert. Presented by the Lexington Philharmonic, this interactive, curriculum-connected concert is designed especially for elementary students.

Through live orchestral music, storytelling, and engaging visuals, students will discover important musical concepts, make cultural connections, and experience the excitement of a live symphonic performance. Highlights of the program include selections from Made in America by Joan Tower and Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.

Please be on the lookout for permission slips and additional information from the 4th grade team.

How Bad Are Energy Drinks for Kids Presentation?

The Franklin County Health Department will be present How Bad Are Energy Drinks for Kids to our middle schoolers on February 26 during school hours.

Literacy Escape Room

Students will participate in a literacy escape room, completing challenges within a limited time. Will they solve the clues and escape before time runs out?

A Nation of Others

March 6, 2026

Our 5th graders and selected middle school students will travel back in time to Ellis Island, experiencing the immigration inspection station as it was on a single day in 1921. This UK Opera Theatre performance at the Lexington Opera House brings to life powerful stories of bravery, resilience, heartbreak, and hope from people who came to America in search of a better life.

Teachers will be reaching out soon regarding chaperones, snacks, and permission slips. We are excited to provide students with this unforgettable opportunity to experience history through live performance.

Nickel Ninja Fundraiser

April 1 - 30, 2026

Nickel Ninja is a fun, 7th & 8th fundraiser where students compete to earn the most points by collecting coins. Each house has a container to collect nickels, which add points to their total. But watch out—sneaky ninjas can drop in pennies, dimes, quarters or even dollars to subtract points from other classes! It’s a friendly competition that builds teamwork, school spirit, and excitement while raising money to support programs and activities for our students. The house with the most points at the end will earn bragging rights and a special reward!
